i was planning to tap the diff at least for the pickup and perhaps (with the suggestion of another saaber who put the thought iinto my head) send oil back to another point in the tranny so the input/output aren't so close.
oil cooler I was planning to use is a Tilton electric oil cooler. It's made for differential and tranny oil cooling. I tend to buy the parts that I think will last over time and perform (as much as I was tempted by the folks who posted that a bosch fuel pump would work)
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check out your link. Do you know anyone who has successfully done this and how much it lowered their tranny temperatures?
