I agree with you now
I did a 96 900 up today
installed a viggen IC built it a turbo back exhaust & programmed a fairly agressive stage3 ECU for it
I just cut the botttom of the filter box off leaving a 4X8 rectangle hole in the bottom of the box
I feel the bumper suport keeps the heat out from under the box & you could hear the intake air more like an NA car we did before & after runs & the car definatly ran better
we did use a K&N filter but I did tell the customer that it dosent flow much better then a paper one but its nice that its reuseable & he likes that too
