I have 2 sage 5 ECU's right now. One of them is the "tranny saver" and it doesn't make any boost until 3,500(boring) and the other one Frank tuned as a "tranny killer" it makes full boost with a cropped 18T by 2900! The smart guy would take the tranny saver and drive it very carefully right? I wish I was that smart guy! It's just too much fun to leave sitting on the shelf. It feels like stage 4 but with more top end.
The ring and pinion definitely seems to be the weak link. If I were to take a WAG as to why you have broken so many: The snapping of the throttle when you exit/enter the corners on the track. All of that instant pop and lash is probably the culprit. My friend at SCUSA said that putting the throttle down in the lower gears coming out of a quick turn puts a ton of stress on the tranny and causes it to flex, which results in the old ring and pinion dance through the bellhousing routine that I just went through.:o)
