I did read that article :-) Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Tue, 18 Oct 2005 21:46:08 In Reply to: I got a question regarding AFR at boost, StephanK, Tue, 18 Oct 2005 20:30:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
the guy definatly has good theory & draws from good sources
mostly what I see done is like I state below in a post
modern engine management has such good ignition strategy for learning that bringing down AF ratios from much leaner then optimum to a bit richer then optimum will allow ignition timing to learn up making more power
this can be done with out messing with knock detection maps
you arent going to use enough fuel to wash down the cylinder walls ofcourse :-)
there is also a 280WHP C900 owned by nick at mac autosport in denver colorado which runs between 11:1 mabey a tad richer on the dyno
those are verry impressive #s
I think ultimatly there is a happy point mabey between those 2 extreemes (dumping fuel or dumpinmg timing where Ill end up)
keep in mind that often on a dyno a car will look richer then it will on the road in 4th or 5th gear because of the diferences of cooling effect on the IC
have a great week
