Chaz, I dont' think I was trying to use strong words on that fuel pump post so I'm sorry if it came across that way. What do I use on all my v4s? I have simply gone to any chain store and purchased the inline electric pump they have generically placed out in the browsing section of the store. I have also used the Airtex pump that I know Kansas has posted about many times. Vsaab has a parts interchange list that, though incomplete, has the part number listed. Bruce Turk will send you an abridged version of his parts interchange info if you ask and the full thing if you pay to be a member of the new england saab club. I have never posted numbers for a pump because many others have. I have never needed to ask the question nor have I needed to respond to the question...someone else inevitably already had (kansas, et al.)
My suggestion was a general one. I have had to work with Autozone, checker, napa, advance auto, krager, you name it. I have also worked with some of the supply houses for shops. The supply guys do tend to know a bit more but the chains have more availability quite often. As well, few supply places are supplying for old saab mechanics...so often the don't have a clue either. If all else fails, I have often simply asked to see their catalogs. They've always ponied up when asked. I have had by trying to match pictures with the part I've taken off the car. I have never had success simply going in to any store and asking for a part for my V4 saabs. I have more luck with my 99s and there are fewer of those on the road imo. I have had plenty of success ssearching the archives of either this site or Vsaab in finding part numbers that have worked.
Anyway, hopefully my woeful communication skills can be forgiven and were I not stuck in South Carolina right now, 2700 miles from all my vintage saab stuff, I'd send you every bit of info I have.
Good luck.
dan
