, rather than just doing what you think is OK.
I don't know very much about Sonett wiring and what it can handle, but have you asked and answered the following questions?
What size wire safely supplies hundreds of amps from the battery to the starter? The largest wire in the car, a fat red 4 or 2 gauge. Why is it so large? To safely handle the current.
What size wire do you intend to use to put amps back into the electrical system from your 120 amp alternator? If you don't replace it, it is a 12 or 14 gauge wire. That wire is sized to safely allow the alternator to put back 35 amps, not 120.
What happens when you try to push 120 amps through the smaller wire? Resistance and heat. Think of the wire as an incandescent lightbulb.
Batteries are designed to provide cranking amps, but are also designed to accept current to recharge them. Put too much current into a battery and you will damage the battery.
Perhaps you have researched this more than you let on on your posts, but if not, I think you should.
If you have, I apologize for showing my ignorance.
Best of luck with the project.
