Help: 9-5 Wagon Engine Trouble
Posted by Al Youngwerth (more from Al Youngwerth) on Tue, 16 May 2000 12:09:40
What I feared is finally coming true. My nearest 'authorized' Saab service center is 5+ hours away and I'm having some real problems with the wagon.
With the exception of the 'Brake Light Failure' warning coming on sporadically (brake lights just fine), my '99 9-5 wagon has been flawless for nearly a year and 7K miles. My wife just called complaining of engine troubles.
The car started sputtering, the Check Engine idiot light came on and then it stalled. After 5 minutes of starting then immediately stalling, she finally got it started again and got it back home.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem with their 9-5 (2.3 LPT)? If so what was the fix? I don't suppose there's any 'cheater' way to get the ECU fault codes?
Any help is really appreciated. If the car goes totally dead I get a free tow to Salt Lake City for repair but I think I still have to pick it up on my dime.
Thanks in advance...
