Service intervals and selfarming alarm
Posted by richard berber (more from richard berber) on Sun, 2 Jul 2000 09:08:45
Dear Saab-cionados,
I'm only since Friday proud owner of a 900S/'95/55,000km. I bought the car at one local (Perth, Western Australia) and I'm pretty happy with it :-)
I browsed a little the archive and faq-pages, but couldn't find answers to following questions:
1) The guys at the dealer told me that 10,000km service intervals are appropriate. Firstt, I think that's pretty short, second, two service programme tables came with the car. One (M1994-96, FE/ME) states 10K km intervals, the other (M1994-96, PA) says 15K km.
Which one should I assume to be the right one? Waht does FE/Me and Pa stan for?
2) In Western Australia all cars are required to be fitted with self-arming alarms/immobiliser. As there comes a factory-fitted alarm with the car, I'm wondering whether it is possible to to change the driver activated alarm to an self-arming one. Any suggestions?
(The faq only mentioned different micro-switch setting, but not a change in arming.)
Thanks & regards, Thomas
