not to be too cynical, but it sounds to me like the dealer is putting you between a rock and a hard place. why would they do that ? do they not want to get into the repair at all? would they loose financially in this case ?
it doesnt seem fair or logical to spend that kind of money for diagnosis.
another point of view might help you. can you take it to another SAAB dealer/somewhere else ? your warranty doesnt tie you to this place for service, does it ?
