Message from Larry West Subject: Re: Engine replacement ================= Sounds like you wrecked something badly in the transmission. The good news is, if the motor was off, then the motor should be fine. Check the transmission & engine dipsticks. The engine oil usually does not leak out, but if the case crack is bad enough, it can.
The transmission on the 99 & Classic 900 also forms the oil sump (pan) for the engine.
You need a new transmission. If all the oil leaked out, the case is garbage, and so is something else major inside (the thing that caused the case to rupture). Rebuilding this one is not an option.
Check the TSN mechanics lists for a local mechanic.
