Saab 93 SE, Turbo Diesel
Posted by Spencer Cleary (more from Spencer Cleary) on Thu, 27 Jan 2000 14:33:32
Having bought this car from Saab City in London, a peculiar problem has emerged which their engineers have been unable to identify after two visits to my home.
The reason for the home visits: When I first purchased the car, it suffered a 'check engine' problem which required the car to be returned to the workshop. I insisted that the car was not to be used for personnel use or driven without my permission...
Unfortunately, this did happen resulting with 120 miles been added to the car. So I am reluctant to let them take the car away again.
The problem is: When the ignition is switched off and in the locked position with the key removed, the ACC fans kick in and blow air into the cabin and the ACC panel lights up!
The only way to disable this 'Feature' is to remove fuse 27/ACC. The engineer has changed the ACC PCB, resistors packs? and various other components leaving only the SID unit to be changed before having to rip off the dash board and dig into the wiring loom... Yes in their workshop!
The car has only been two months on the road.... Any suggestions?
