Give the tailpipe a good shake, up, down and sideways. the exhaust
system may be hitting somewhere. As for the hatch rattle, I know on my
900 sedan the screws that hold latch mechanism, back off from time to
time. Check that out.

Sorry no help from me here, although I feel for you about the lack of a
good mechanic. Here in Eastern Canada we have the same problem. Hard
to believe that we are on the border of Maine and SAABs are very popular
there...
