Have you driven one?
This is a loaded question. It's like telling a PC user why they should buy a Mac. it's polarizing. For every answer one could give, a rebuttal could be made to the contrary.
My best answer is that SAABs tend to appeal to people who have discriminating taste and like to be different. SAAB buyers do their homework probably more than any other car buyer, just because there are so many varying opinions about the cars and the brand.
Using the Macintosh analogy-seems like whenever a SAAB owner is confronted by someone with a question, comment or criticism about their car-they have to almost invariably be on the defensive. As a result, SAAB owners tend to be very educated about their cars-moreso than typical owners of other brands.
I could rattle off a laundry list of reasons why you should buy a SAAB but I won't bore you with that. I'm sure there are others on the board more eloquent than I.
I'll tell you this. SAAB owners-like Mac users, feel like they know a "little secret" that most others don't get. And that "secret" is that SAABs (like Macs)-are just awfully good at what they do. It's a well kept secret. I'd tell you more but then I'd have to kill ya. ;-)
That said-just drive one and see what you think. If you don't like it, fine. SAABs (like Macs) are just not for everyone (although in my mind they should be). There are plenty of cars that are cheaper, faster, more reliable, have more gizmo techno gadgetry or have more cachet with the "in crowd" that can certainly fit the bill.
I'm sure I haven't answered your question. If I have, then you "get' it. If not, I hope you find what you're looking for.
