The car runs well but has a few problems: Driver seat leather is worn through. Top is in very good condition but will not latch in rear because of bad sensor. The remote entry device will not open the doors or trunk, shift knob leather is worn through, and stereo panel has a few bad pixels. Car was scrupulously maintained and was garaged. All systems are in good running order. Body is in good condition except for small dent near front right wheel well and some scuffing of the bumpers.

1988 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible (Posted 5/8/2008)

Very nice classic Saab 900 Turbo Convertible, black on black, performance modified. The body has about 180,000 miles (odometer stopped working). The engine and transmission were both stripped and rebuilt in 2001 and have about 50,000 miles on them. Performance mods include copper head gasket, hi-flow air filter, hi-flow exhaust, lightened flywheel, APC bypass (manual boost control), oversized fuel injectors, rising rate fuel pressure regulator, and new turbo. This car is fast, has great pickup, and looks great. Styled to simulate a “Springtime in Sweden” model, or “SPG convertible”. It has a nice sportprofile. But it does have some issues: it leaks a bit of oil (a spot about the size of a golf ball every time it’s run). The rear-most exhaust mount needs repaired (exhaust is fine though). The fuel feeder pump is starting to buzz meaning it will need to be replaced soon (though there have been no other symptoms yet). The air conditioning works, but it doesn’t blow very strongly out of the front vents. The front suspension was replaced in 2001 and will probably need work soon. And just recently, it was bumped and damaged on the left front while parked (photos available on the link below). I am including a spare top motor and a Bentley repair guide. I’m selling this car as-is at the best price offered to me. I recently bought another car and cannot keep a second car according to my homeowner’s association by-laws. This is a strong running 900. It is solid. Originally from North Carolina, now in Central Florida. In 2007 I replaced Power Steering Rack, Reseal Oil Pump,Valve cover gasket, distributor housing o-ring Oil pressure switch, brake fluid flush. The odometer stopped at 107,000 (120k is a realistic estimate)The A/C is currently not operating. Car comes with new (rebuilt) compressor for you to install. Convertible top (which works just like new – goes up and down fast and noiselessly), fog lights, heated driver’s seat, leather seats (nearly pristine), and a boot cover that stores in it’s own case in the large trunk, etc. The tires +/- 2k miles; 60m battery with 3.5 years to go; 4 new ball joints; new power steering return line and filter; new NGK plugs; new turn signal/cruise switch; new tie rod and CV boot, wiper blades, inner drive seals and valve cover gasket. New hood and boot emblems. By no means a complete list of recent work or parts. Complete records and receipts including, but not limited to, just about every oil change. Certainly all the big stuff is documented including the new transmission. Serviced by the best Saab shops including Specialty Services and Viking Automotive. Passed Maryland inspection in January. All original manuals and Saab document case are present. I just got this car for my wife but unfortunately the seats do not accomodate her bad back very well. I would keep it myself but I've got too many cars. This is a beauty. Raised in the south SC all it's life. It drives great. Turbo hummmms. Tires are brand new and the top is ammaculate. The interior is in good shape with typical wear and tear on the drivers seat. More fun than a $ 4000 dollar call girl and you can save your career. My 1991 Turbo 5spd convertible is up for sale. High miles and lots of maintenance. Clutch,shift linkage,shocks,tie rod ends, ball joints, alignment, brakes ,tires-Michelin Harmony's 90% left, timing chain, milled head and new head gasket-3 months ago,new heater valve. New top and rear window-fully functioning automatically. Interior is good and normal wear on the beige leather for the age-some stichting coming apart. Alpine stereo and cd player-great sound. Garaged for last 6 or 7 years while I owned it. Runs well and transmission is tight. Seat back tilt cables need to be replaced. Some minor rust-I have left it as is and the car looks good. Thanks

Rust free, Southern car, MS, GA then FL** I'm the 2nd owner, since 03. Orig. owner replaced steering rack, exhaust, repainted car & installed new top in 01. When I bought the car it had 83,000 miles & a head gasket, blown between 2&3. I replaced gasket, resurfaced, did valve job. Both main seals have been replaced, new front crank pulley. Transmission has been rebuilt, new clutch, master cylinder & slave cylinder, water pump, motor mounts, New Saab 8 spoke wheels, headlight switch, heater control valve, brake light switch. Complete break job, tires have 3k miles. Records for all of the above. AC has been converted to R134, worked fine for a year, now has blown the pressure relief valve on the comperssor...may be a sign of blockage in the system. Both bumper covers have abrasions and need to be replaced. Only one ding in the body, a rock dent, on hood, same rock got the windshield. Cracks on dash, front seats have worn through where the seat belts contact the bolsters. Cruise control is intermittent, radio antenna does not retract. There is a slight vibration at 55-60 MPH, I have been told that both tie rod ends need to be replaced. Bentley Manual included.
