93 C900 brake pedal like a rock [saabnet.com]

hi everyone
in our novel 1993 900 S with 110k, the brake pedal was like a rock. The ABS and fluid leve lights were on. mechanic added fluid. it was no better. it needed brake lines in the back and an acumulator, and it is still no better.
the car does stop. you just have to press the pedal VERY hard, and keep holding it down VERY strongly.
he says he has never run into this before and he would either suggest taking it to the dealer for SAAB code info OR just beginning to replace component after component IF we had a 900 for parts.
could anyone offer any specific insight ?
thanks very much Jay ================ To send a response, just hit reply! The Saab Network - On the Internet Since 1988 http://www.saabnet.com/
