I happen to remember having the EXACT question you have !
I turned to the 16V Bentley book, and after deciphering the color codes and finding the correct wiring diagrams, I found that:
oil pressure = blue (with white connector) alternator = green (with black connector) starter = yellow PLUS a fat red wire from the battery positive
The small starter wire should be relatively easy to identify because it is further away from the end of the wiring harness. The blue and the green wires are at the end of the harness, and only a wiring diagram can help you for sure. Anyway, the above is correct for an '89 900 US-market 16V.
If you don't have the Bentley book, it's highly recommended !
