The updated 9-3SS will have plenty more power. The 2006 Linear is getting the current Arc/Aero engine and the 2006 Arc/Aero are getting a twin scroll V6 Turbo with 260HP 260Torque (may be off by a few units, but about that). While still not matching the G35, it is a very significant boost in power. If you don't mind missing out on the employee discount and waiting, I think the 2006 9-3SS Arc will offer much more value and bang for the buck.

The G35's driving characteristics are very different from the Saab's. Its RWD, so if you live in a snowy region forget the G35. Otherwise I would wait. But if you can't wait, I would go with the G35, you just can't match its bang for the buck.
