We brought our 2004 93SS Aero to the dealer and had "rest of world" or "RoW" selected
in the headlight/driving light menu.
This gives:
1 no daytime running lights (ie, the switch actually works)
2 you can turn on driving/fog lights *with* high beams for max lighting
Works like you'd expect it to. The middle "parking light" part of the
switch still stays on with the key out, so like Mike said don't leave
your parking lights on or you can kill the battery.
