Well, it is a fascinating question. I’ve owned both Mercedes and BMW cars over the years; my 9-3SS is the first SAAB. So while I don’t really have a wealth of experience with the brand, I’d venture to say that SAAB people are individualists comfortable going their own way (sorry Audi…) no matter the current trends in perceived status or style.
I think most SAAB owners take driving very seriously, enjoying the actual act of driving well. Precision and skill count for a great deal so their car should be able to deliver that same level of precision. (It surely is no accident that the association with jets – things that are incredibly technical in and of themselves - are easily identifiable with the SAAB brand. It seems to me to be no great stretch really.)
And while I don’t know this to be uniformly true, I suspect SAAB owners also have a developed sense of style - I’d be curious to know how many owners are involved or employed in the design trades.
Of course, this is all speculation but there you have it, miscellaneous SAAB ramblings, FWIW!
