Anyone else not enamored with Xenon headlamps?.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 12 Jul 2006 03:40:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Our recently purchase 9-3SC is equipped with the Premium package wiich includes the Xenon headlamps. I initially thought these would be fantastic because my wife, the primary driver of this car, is uncomfortable with night driving due to reduced light levels. I was certain these brighter headlamps would help her confidence when driving at night.
I strongly dislike the color rendition of this light source, stop signs are no longer red but a purpleish hue. The very sharp vertical cut-off of the beams leaves many small roadside signs non-illuminated and not readable since the sign body is above the beam cut-off.
I believe the self leveling feature is working correctly as the headlamps perform a leveling cycle at each engine start. (I wonder how much this will cost to repair when it eventually fails?)
Anyone else remorseful for buying this option?
