but that is how they designed it.I'm leasing, so have no intentions of changing anything, but it seems to me that only a quieter exhaust system will make a real change. I have noted that the humming sound is load dependent, not so much RPM dependent. When the engine has any load on it you will hear that low frequency humming. I could live without it myself, but heard it when I took my test drive and decided that the other benefits of the car outweighed this one annoyance.On the positive side, as you accelerate hard with this engine, the hum is about the only thing you hear.The Aero motor is smooth and quiet,two charecteristics I appreciate compared to my just traded in 2002 9-5 Aero.
