This part number is from one of the European sources, possibly the same site you obviously visited. Have your local Dealer do a search for this part number in their catalog and see what they find.
It sounds like they may have previously been looking in the "Collision Body Parts" section of the parts catalog where everything is sold individually for replacement/repair following accidents, and not in the "Accessories" section where the roof rack will be listed as a complete kit. Otherwise I can't understand why everything would be an individual part.
I agree that the $250 versus $200 prices sound like an annual cost increase or currency fluctuation.
One other thing. The cost of the cross bars that connect to the factory roof rails is greater than the cost of the cross bars which connect to the mounting points beneath the flip-up doors of your current roof trim strips. Other than the flexibility of shifting the crossbars fore-and-aft on the roof rails, you won't loose any roof loading utility by using the existing roof connection points.
Vehicle appearance is subjective, you are the only one who can determine it it is worth the $500 to $600 to install the factory rails as an accessory.
