This won't be much help in your specific situation, but after my (since traded) 1995 900S was pushed into a curb during a snowstorm I experienced a very similar sound. It was a low speed accident driving around 30 mph in snow where another car in the oncoming lane went out of control and bumped me to the curb. I battled the insurance company to replace everything possibly related, and I got two new front alloys after complaining about their pitiful resprayed/refurbished allows. I paid for two new front tires to rule that out. I still had this very subtle 'whump whump' around typical highway speeds. No one else could hear it (wife, friend, dealer tech), but I could hear it/feel it and I knew it wasn't there previously. I was considering having the front wheel bearings replaced on my own dime and then hitting up the insurance company if the noise went away. I drove miles all around the dealership to try and locate a section of road where I could accurately reproduce the sound, but no such luck. These things can be very frustrating to pinpoint, especially if the person who drives the car daily is the only one who can really hear the noise.
