If you're looking for a car with minimum reliability issues, then you want to buy Acura/Honda or Lexus/Toyota. I currently own my 5th Saab and I don't buy my Saab because of reliability. I buy it, cause it drives great and I don't see 10 of them parked on the same street (There's 5 grey Acura TSX's on one street in my neighborhood). Saab's reliability is not much better or worse than Audi, BMW...etc. Honda/Toyota are in one class, then there's BMW/Benz/Audi/Saab...etc. Then there's Kia, Suzuki...etc. So I really never cared what consumer reports says, I love my saab and I put up with the "annoyances" (Squeeky dashboard, Squeeky suspension in the winter, CD skips in the first 10 mins on a cold morning...etc). I've had my '03 (71K miles) with no mechanical issues, but a few electronic issues (It's been good for the last year ever since the latest software upgrade).
