I had the exact same thing happen as yours - coolant tank and hinge. Big deal. Both repaired after a trip to the dealer. Everyone keeps saying "hinge" when in fact it is simply the door stop. A bit of Lok-tite and they are fine. The hinges themselves were never in any jepordy of coming "unhinged".
To me a real complaint is one compromising safety or leaving you stranded at the side of the road. These are neither. Annoying, yes.

Compare this to my old 2001 Ford Escape that, upon restart after filling the gas tank, produced a big "sproing" sound. This was the belt tensioner falling into a pile on the ground. This also was repaired rather easily, but did leave the car undriveable. Again, true complaint in my book.

My point was that NO car comes out of the factory perfect, or very few. Cars in general are infinitely better-made than even 10 years ago, so maybe we all expect perfection.

I don't think Saab is in any danger of not being a going concern. These are the safest vehicles on the road, and will certainly save your life in the unfortunate event of a crash much better than Mazda, Honda, or any other more popular car. I am not ripping on these. My wife has a Honda that runs strong at 75k miles, and a friend has a Mazda 6 that is a hoot to drive. I wouldn't take either.
