I guess your decision rests in the type of driving you are tying to do. My 9-3 came with the stock Pirelli P Zero Rosso's and they were amazing. Even with agressive driving I was able to squeeze out 19K. Also, road noise was minimal and they were very sticky. The only problem I had was the cut. I am a "V" cut directional fan. I've never owned Goodyears on my 9-3. I noticed they were somewhat expensive for the preformance I got back out of them. I have had some nice Cooper tires, but as the tread wore down, road noise and vibration seemed to rise rather dramaticly. From my observation, they did not wear evenly so I'm not sure if I was stuck with a "defect" set. I kept the pressure and alighment maintained so I'm not sure about the problem. I have also tried Kumho. I can't reccomend them because because I felt the sidewalls were alot thinner than they should be. I've given up on buying expensive tires because from my expierance I can't beat 20K on anything so I'm rocking some Nexum's. I will say they are doing a great job (especialy for the price). I did lose some performace because I stepped down from Z rating to W. In my opinion and based on my expierance, stick with Pirelli for the best performance. But keep in mind you will have to pay top dollar for them.
