2006 2.0T SS - 80K miles - Start the car last week and get the ABS/Traction/Stability failure trifecta on the SID. The local shop I use doesn't have the ability to read which sensor has failed due to lack of software. He said he can replace the hub and speed sensor if I know which one it is. Otherwise I need to find a shop capable in Chicago burbs... I"m not going back to the dealer, they charge crazy amounts.
So, here's the question. Since the failure, my odometer is counting at exactly 50% my actual mileage. It took me a little while to notice, but I have confirmed it with a GPS over a couple hundred miles. I'm guessing that the programming algorithm must average the speed of two sensors. The question is which two? Anyone know?
Also, anyone know of a good dealer with Saab Tech II in chicago land? Finally, I see at least two companies making after market replacement hubs (with integral speed sensors) on the web, Ruville and SKF. Does anyone have any experience with either company? I would like to figure out which sensor is bad, order the replacement and have either my shop or a recommended shop install it.
