My thoughts were, and they may be wrong, that the "missing" part of this adapter would need to be threaded at the correct pitch for the caliper piston for it to work properly. Anything else, and it could be worse than the bare adapter with hand/arm pressure.
I opted for the bare style that would not be subject to possible erronious mechanical advantage.
I also saw that this part is labeled to work on the Volvo 40 and 50 series automobiles. Do you have the same issue servicing these cars with your Snap-On kit as you have with the 9-3SS series?
Center-to-Center spacing of the pins measures as 19mm. Outside-to-Outside measures as 24mm. Are the pins on your adapters too closely spaced, or too distant?
