I was at the Acura dealer tonight but there wasn't enough time to test drive so unfortunately I guess I really am not at the point were I have anything constructive to say. It was the first time I even sat in a TSX and to be honest I was sort of disappointed. I expected it to be different. It seems like a decent built car with good quality materials (better than the 9-3 undoutedly) but it just seemed too minimalist in the cockpit. I felt sort of like I was in a luxury appliance. I don't think things fell to hand as well and I suspect the car won't fit me as well. Finally, I don't think I am going to like the driving experience with the TSX A-Piller. The A pillar on the 9-3 and TSX are both thick but the TSX seems to lean in more and to be more intrusive to line of sight. However, I won't really know about any of this until I drive it. In part it is undoutedly the case that the 9-3 just seems more familar and is closer to what I am accustomed.

Other impressions were mostly more favorable. I don't think there is any question about the overall TSX quality. The interior quality in particular appeared very good even though unfortuately the heavy metal look trim across the entire dash and the my other design objections did cost it points in my view.

All the review articles are pretty hot on this car especially for a FWD vehicle. On paper it appears to be a serious sports sedan. It is always rather nicely equiped for the money. Based simply on features appears to be a better value than the SAAB but general features aren't the most important consideration. Overall the safety nod clearly goes to the SAAB, however, the Acura appears to have impressive integrity and is respectable in the protection offered. A few design adjustements and they could match the SAAB at least based on the standard crash tests.

Gee isn't that a ridiculously long review for someone who hasn't even drive the car. Sorry folks.
