That's a brake-fluid level warning. You could add brake fluid to the reservoir, or check for a flaky float-switch.
But as your brake pads wear down, fluid moves from the reservoir to take up space behind the now-extended pistons. That IS an indication of brake pads wearing out. Check that out. It's not impossibly fast, but maybe your brakes are dragging from a stuck caliper.
It's also a good excuse to flush fresh brake fluid thru there. Check out the link if you feel like DIY...
