Where the heck is all my oil going?

My 2001 Viggen with 80K miles is losing about a quart of oil every 500 miles; so far, I've lost about 3 quarts. There is no leak that anyone's been able to find. The spark plugs are clean and the compression is fine (between 180 and 185 on each cylinder). I haven't observed any smoke coming out of the exhaust. Initially thought the turbo might be the culprit, but the techs looked at it today and reported that the turbo, and the pipes leading to/from the turbo, are all clean. It's already had the crankcase ventilation modification. I'm using the 5W 30 semi-synthetic stuff.
Where else could all that oil be going?
