It's not the drain plug, it's the copper washer, that goes on the drain plug, that you're having the problem with. Many quickie oil places lose em, and/or attempt to re-use them, hence the drip/leak.
Deans suggestion (using teflon tape) is a possible "stop-gap" fix until your next change. Or go to the dealer, and buy several copper drain plug washers... about a buck each...for future changes.
