Well, my '01 Aero provided me with a wonderful trip back from Montreal (550 miles) last month with nothing but very cold air blowing on my feet.
The ACC recalibration showed an "06" rather than the dreaded "08". A search of this sie revealed that the "06" code dealt with either too high or too low an amperage on the stepper motor.
When I took the stepper motor out, I found that the green/yellow coupling, which is usually found in two pieces, was intact. However, the white plastic stop had broken and had jammed the motor side of the coupling so that the coupling wouldn't turn. I guess that this was the cause of the "Too high amperage" to the stepper.
Anyway, the flap and the coupling appear to be fine - they rotate roughly 180 degrees. Is there any harm in NOT replacing the little white stop?
