I have had Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires on my Impreza for about 10k miles and, compared to some other tires I have used, they are more of a comfortable touring tire than a maximum performance tire. The traction is there, especially in the wet. However, the steering response is quite poor and they do lose grip in really fast corners. I had Dunlop SP8000 on the car before and they always stuck to the pavement like glue -- I could confidently take corners at crazy speeds. Not so with GS-D3s. They are much more comfortable and much quieter than the Dunlops, though. Also they work much better in cold damp weather. The Dunlops became scary on wet roads when temperatures dropped below 40'F.

If I had to describe GS-D3s, I would say they provide good traction and very good comfort, and they are very quiet for a high performance tire. In everyday driving they are very comfortable and provide the driver with great confidence in ordinary situations, especially on wet roads. However, they are unsuitable for performance driving. The steering feel is so-so and they don't really have "maximum performance" level of traction. They are very forgiving -- when you start sliding, they are very progressive and provide good feedback. The points of losing traction and regaining it are very smooth and not abrupt at all. Overall, a comfortable, safe and not very exciting tire. I would not buy them again.
