It only says that the recommended service interval must have been met?
If you used the 10K oil change interval as "recommended" and your car developed a sludge problem, they only need to retract back to that you drove the car under "severe" conditions and should have changed the oil every 5K miles as it is outlined in the warranty booklets. And if you used anything else than the Saab OEM filter you are out of luck.
So the way I read it is that only cars that had the oil changed every 5K miles (+ 1999 miles) using Saab genuine oil filter and recommended minimum quality oil are eligible for the extended warranty?
I think you will find very few cases of sludged up engines that followed that regiment. Most will probably fall under "lack of service" and be denied.
I hope I'm wrong.
