Hmmm,don't know if you'd consider it, but you could probably get a much less used 9-5 sedan for about the same price as the wagon.
Honestly, I'm not sure Saabs are such an awful deal in the shop. My parents have owned a '90 9000 for the last three years. It currently has 224,000 on it and has never cost them more than a few hundred a year to keep on the road.
Maybe foolishly, I took their good experience as an omen and bought a 2000 9-5 with 32k on it for about $12,400. I've had it for about a month, put 2,500 miles on it, and besides a couple of burnt out bulbs it runs like a top.
More importantly, I like it enough that when something does go wrong, I'm not going to feel too badly about writing the check.
