Look up at 342a, the fuse block. Fuse #10 and Fuse #12 carry current to the Xenon shutter motor (marked 665 inside the headlight assemblies, 663FL and 663FR.) The wires coming out of the fuse block include #L33, a brown wire, for the left headlight and L37-1, a white wire for the right headlight.
Look down to relay 666. 87A is the normally closed contact. The relay is energized when the Xenons are powered. 87 is the normally open contact. The normally closed contact feeds wires L5-1 and L5-2, violet and blue, respectively for the left and right high beam halogen filament. The normally open contact feeds wire L40-2, a white wire, that goes on to junction J201 and then to fuses 10 and 12. When the light switch is turned on and the high beam is selected, relay 8A provides the high beam current to junction J201. Relay 666 selects between halogens and the Xenon shutter motor on "flash to pass" depending on the state of the Xenon
I jumpered from the brown L33 wire to the violet L5-1 wire, and from the white L37-1 wire to the blue L5-2 wire. Then I clipped one of the wires from terminal 87A of relay 666 to keep the left circuit and right circuit independent - although on looking again I'm not sure that really accomplishes anything as the left and right circuits are still joined at junction 201. I may go back and reconnect the wires as th modfication might degrade the "flash to pass" when the Xenons are off - current would travel the single wire to the jumper, back through fuse 10 to junction 201 and then to fuse 12 and to the filament.
Note that the high beam curent on "flash to pass" all passes through L48, a 1.0 mm wire, as compared to the rest of circuit having 1.5mm wire gauge, so there isn't an issue of risking the wiring, just added resistance reducing the brightness of the beam.
All this is inside the headlight relay and fuse box located in the engine compartment. Good luck.
