And don't forget the other oil option

Dual rated (gasoline/diesel) dino oils like Mobil's Delvac 1300 Super & Delo 400 are high enough quality (Group II+) to almost be considered semi-synthetic. In addition to better oil quality than gasoline-only motor oils (thereby improving protection & increasing oil durability & longevity), they have better HT/HS ratings & contain higher doses of anti-wear & detergent additives. Hey, they're designed with turbo diesel engines in mind!
Dual rated oils have been Saab's basic recommendation in Europe for years. Here in the US, these superior oils cost only pennies more than your average gasoline-only oil (around $6-$7 for 4 qts of Delvac 1300 Super, or only $1.50-$1.75/qt), but the protection & prevention they provide is far beyond gasoline-only oils.
If you think you're saving money (which you're not) by buying dino oil & replacing it more often, you should at least use a dual rated dino oil.
