But I in essence agree with what your are saying, there is no excuse for inadequate/unclear maintenance advice from Saab and such things as poorly designed PCV system.
Yes people who spent time here can be enlightened and avoid many problems, but most people expect to do the industry norm for maintenance and not have failures, like the overwhelming majority of Japanese autos offer. Another area where Saab has been hurt by trying to stay competitive, but their basic design approach is not quite in sync.
Can you realistically fault the initial poster for not buying another Saab if he gets saddled with an engine rebuild ?
Remember guys, I was a poster who early on found fault with the Saab DI, and back in those days your post would be deeeleeeted - now guys routinely post about complaints to NHTSB, all of which could be quite counter productive to Saab . You cannot cover all the warts forever.
Riddle answer: both will rot yer innards out, and I think both are produced in the Keystone State, where I resided for 4 miserable years.
