A TECH II device is needed to alter the SID temperature. It can be adjusted up/down by a specific offset, so you need to know exactly how far off it is. Keep in mind that when the car sits in the sun the SID will always read higher than the ambient temperature, but it should return to a more accurate reading after driving a few miles. The SID in my '99 has always been dead on.
Run a few tanks of premium gas through before you decide there's a boost problem, although adding injector cleaner can't hurt.
