If you see my earlier posts on the topic, I had loaded up my wagon to the hilt with about an extra 300 pounds (which I measured by scale when I unloaded it when I got home from the 4500km trip).
My toe and camber were both out of spec according to my dealer's machine. I went over it with the tech, and by putting my full weight on the towing loop under the rear bumper, moved camber from -2.1 degrees to -2.9, both sides. The shocks seem to be good (at least to the tech), but I am pretty sure my springs shouldn't have let it go so far out.
When he lifted up the back, the number moved to -1.8 from -2.1 degrees.
He adjusted the camber, without shims this time, to back within spec (sorry, haven't got the sheet with me here), and suggested that I get stiffer sidewall tires that can handle more load. He has a point on this, because softer springs move lower, and place the maximum load closer to the sidewall, which in turn deflects the tread. Add poor toe in, and cupping is the result.
Ran it another 500km with the new set-up and about 120 lbs of extra load (hey, the twins are getting heavier every day!). Handles well, although the noise from the cups is a bit much.
My plan is to budget for a new set of springs, shock, and bushings, and stiffer tires later in the fall. I will let you know if that eliminates the cupping issue.
