In the family. The 9-5 is a true wagon wagon and has a lot of comfort features. The Aero is very sporty and has a nice hatchback that folds down flat to the front seats, but is a much smaller car and hasn't won all the safety awards that the 9-5 has. The Aero is an an excellent handling car with AWD, but it's currently sold out and I think the 2006's still have not yet arrived (scheduled to sometime this month).
Test drive both. That's the best advice I can give. We love both the 99 Wagon and 05 Aero, so you can't go wrong.
