Hi, thanks for the valuable input to my other post regarding Tranny Fluid Change. The more I search the more questions surface ... pls help me so I can decide should I "flush" ot should I just drain/fill:
* car is 2001 9-5 lpt (auto) sedan, just past 60k mark as we speak.
* Haynes book apperantly only talks about Drain/Fill
* WIS (tks to 8AA2YM) obviosuly talks about Flush ..
Questions are:
1. WIS suggested ~7 Ltr (close enough as 7 Quart) is required to Flush, some old posts suggested ~11 Quarts. Quite a delta ... so how many Quart should I need for my car if I'm to do a Flush?
2. I bought the car used, hence let's assume it has the same tranny oil as the car rolled out from the production line .... that said, should I stick with non-synthetic fluid? If Synthetic is way to go, is there a particular grade that my car of 2001 should use (I saw some "3309" oil shold not be used in pre-2002)?
3. If I'm to Flush, I read some old posts about using cheapo tranny fluid to start with, and use premium fluid for the final fill .. if I'm to do juts that, exactly how many Qt of cheapo a 60k car would to flush out all the old fluid?
4. an old post from MI-Roger mentioned a need to remove the radiator in order to reach (comfortably) the tube/nipple ... I am quite ocnfused with the whole "Flush" thing .. the WIS diagram is quite unclear to me, and the Haynes does not even mention "Flush". Id there any diy with photos which can help me better understand what's (and locations) involved?
That all for now .. Thanks in advance.
