This sounds like the ocnversations I had when I got out of my 87 C900 and into an 97 NG 900. OK is was not the same when I got out of my 78 99.( Yes there was a time when they kept the 900 signature) People lamenting the end of SAAB blah blah blah. So some of the hardliners are gone ( maybe) but it is still a unique car, not apprecaited by all, ( or maybe anyone) isn't that what makes it unique. I have a 2000 9-5 ( needed a bigger car after the family grew) and was disappointed they stopped making the 9000, I had finally grown to like that car ( but is that a "true SAAB" not to some- but it sure has its devotees as does the NG), I though it was silly when the CD that came with the car mentioes the wrap around windscreen they invented ( that was gone with the C900) Face it a geat car is a great car wheter it looks like a sounds like a...
there are many cars that have gone through the dame ( think Corvette, Mustang ( VW Beetle)
I think as long as there are any zealots for anything, a brand will survive.
