Excellent points and for sure zealous people believe that what they own is the best there is. I'm sure there were zealous Yugo owners. I suppose the current SAAB is better than none and really automotive technology (at least with basic consumer cars) is pretty much at a plateau that all manufacturers are reaching. Is there an absolute aesthetic? Don't know for sure, but there was a day when automotive design was driven by a cultural aesthetic. Now, it seems, the the aesthetic is created by the mass media and the manufacturers need to ascribe to it to be viable. The C900 is still unique, the 96 was unique even the 9000 (Lancia/Alfa notwithstanding) was unique. The '06 9-5? Not to my aesthetic sense. FWIW.
