What I would do right away is to document everything and get photos of the timing belt area and water pump.
Have them show you how the water pump failed and look closely at the timing belt setup (especially the three roller bearings that the belt run over).
It would take quite a bit of failed water pump to make the timing belt jump (not just a little leak).
The water pump is not driven by the timing belt as it is on many other car makes.
If one of the roller bearings in the timing belt setup looks like in the picture, it is most likely that instead of the water pump that caused the failure and you might have some chance to get some help with repairs since the roller bearing failure have happened before ever since the V6 engine was introduced in 94 with the NG900/9000 model.
