I told the Dealer about the advice on Saabnet and a few hours later, they called me back. They now believe the cam belt was incorrectly installed - they thought the tension was set too tight? Although some idlers were also replaced with the belt, one of the new idlers had failed. Their Master-Tech said the cam belt was incorrectly installed. He tried to replace the idler and then install a new belt only to find the tension was way too tight. So instead of fixing the engine, they are ordering a new one and the Dealership and/or Saab will be paying the bill. And to top it off, I now have been offered a loaner car. Saabnet people are the best.
