2000 Aero oil leak woes, poor mileage, and more..

Folks, first time poster. I love my Aero 9-5. I really do. I just put my 18" summer rims back on yesterday and it looks so sweet. But at only 71K I've spent so much already. I'm considering a trade in (who knows with what, probably back to a Honda), but I'd like your advice. Bought the car used.
I was just informed of a very slight HG leak (which I will retorque and probably fix), and 4 lines leaking - oil cooler lines and turbo lines (or at least their fittings). All seem to have sprung a leak recently. Only things I've done is put in fresh synthetic 0W40 and repair my PCV system (new oil trap and hoses) as the old system had a hole in the top hose. When I bought the car, I averaged 24 mpg overall (PCV system was bad then). Now I get 20mpg. All the time. Especially since I repaired the PCV system. I'm ready to vent it to the atmosphere again to see if it helps. Only indicator of something wrong is the occasional 1 day a month or less that the engine light stays on when driving the car (goes off again on restart). Maybe this means O2 sensors or something (no one can catch the code so far).
My question is - has anyone else experienced this type of oil loss problems or gas mileage oddity? I am on the highway with the car 50% of the time and only getting 20mpg average (computer and gas pump agree). My wife usually drives the car with the kids, it's not getting beat. Tires are at 34psi, plugs are new, K&N cone is clean, engine runs very well and there's no exhaust smoke that I can see. I'm confused! IS this car trade-in fodder or what? Cost of the hoses alone is like $500!
Oh, and my alternator bearing is now humming. There goes another $150 if I can get to it myself (I know it's tough to get around the exhaust). Thanks in advance for any input you can give.
