I've got the V6 Turbo in my 2000 9-5.
I like the torque that it has. As for reliability, I've been less than impressed. Just in the engine alone I've had these problems:
1. Immediately, the pulley tensioner had to be replaced.
2. After a trip to the snow, the gasket on the water pump had to be replaced, as the gasket sealer somehow shrank and allowed water to drip out.
3. Supposedly the engine has two holes for an oil filter?? The unused hole started leaking oil. I'm not sure what the dealer did to fix it, but somehow they stopped the oil from leaking.
I think that's it, as far as the engine goes (there have been several other non-engine related issues, but those are probably problems that would affect the I4, too).
I'm only at 53,000 miles, so I could be looking at more problems ahead.
Tony
