I have '99 sedan, 2.3lpt with 112K mi and recently I've noticed the same thing.
Last summer over a weekend, I replaced plugs, air filter, changed oil and added Techron to a full tank of Shell V-power and suddenly my car came to life. It lasted for a while and then it slowly lost the power.
This summer, I changed the plugs and did some other DIY stuff, including CPS, heater bypass valve, brakes and tranny fluid, and I feel like I'm back where I was last summer before the minor tune up... pokey. I've been adding Techron every time after I change the oil and I always use top grade gasoline, but still get that sluggish feeling.
The car is okay but doesn't have the "zip" that it once had. I'm really gentle with it- I feel if I push it, I might hurt it!
My latest concern is the tranny. Sometimes in the morning I can't get it into any gear, especially reverse.
